Chrysula WinegarA mother is one of the greatest influencers in society–of her children, her spouse, her community, her country, her planet. Her impact from the boardroom to the PTA to the supermarket and to the polling booth is greater than ever before. Her ripple effect has no bounds.

A communications consultant, blogger and social media obsessive, Chrysula Winegar has lived and traveled all over the world. When You Wake Up A Mother is a space to bring all of these elements–and her belief in mothers–together.

 

Speaker:
Passionate about connectedness and the power of social media to foster mobilization and thought leadership, Chrysula has presented at the United Nations Foundation/Mashable Social Good Summit during UN Week for the last three years, and is a regular conference and seminar presenter throughout the US including at Alt Summit, Type A Parent Conference, Evo Conference, BYU Women in Business and the Mormon Women Project salon series.

Social Media:
She is the social media marketing director for the Power of Moms and the community manager for the Million Moms Challenge–a United Nations Foundation initiative to connect American mothers with the moms and babies of the world’s most vulnerable places.

Writer:
She writes extensively for the Million Moms Challenge, and guest blogs with MomsRising.org, the Huffington Post and Corporate Voices for Working Families amongst others. Chrysula’s work is featured in two recently published books Dream, Dare, Do: Remarkable Things Can Happen When You Dare To Dream and Deliberate Motherhood: 12 Key Powers of Peace, Purpose, Order & Joy.

Background and Projects:
Her professional life has been spent in in Sydney, Australia and London, UK. Since 2000 she has been based in New York and surrounds. Chrysula has extensive experience as an international marketing communications professional with companies like Ernst & Young, NatWest UK and Aveda (Estee Lauder Companies). She is a communications consultant with a passion for change. Recent campaigns she’s helped create and execute include: Shot@Life, #GivingTuesday and Million Moms Challenge.

A huge advocate of more nimble and flexible work place structures as the linchpin of evolving social and economic structures, Chrysula agitates for what she calls:

“the holy trinity of individual knowledge and responsibility, corporate culture and policy and careful base-line legislation.”

Chrysula and her husband live in Connecticut with their four children. Above all, she believes mothers are powerful, and can truly help change the world. Her family, her faith, and the marriage of a new model of work and women’s empowerment in true partnership with men, coupled with the energy of social media activism are the things that make her her soul sing.
